Good spin cobbler!

I love how Laker fans are acting like this is a good idea. Some say he will play better than Vlad, some say it doesnt matter because its about money! Either way they do no wrong!

A player hitting 44% from the arc and has started more than half the games... to the biggest bust in the last decade who has played 44 games in the last TWO SEASONS.

Adam FREAKING Morrison!

Acquiring Morrison means nothing for the Lakers, getting out from Rad's contract is huge though.

RAD>morrison, even on defense LOL! In a game of horse, Morrison has the edge. I understand the why for the cats, wallace is out for awhile and they have a big scoring defecit. RAD's contract sucks, I understand why the lakers dumped it. Morrison is maybe, the worst defender in the NBA. I think he will be smelling alot of pine, and will rarely get off the bench.

Not sure why you see it as a spin. Once Walton came back from his injury Rad was deep on the bench often playin 0 mins a game. When he did play it was mostly garbage mins. He started at the beginning of the season because Walton was recovering from surgery. This was a cap space move that will dave the Lakers 8 million next year. That is money that will be used to resign Ariza and Odom (who has said he is willing to take a pay cut to stay). Let me see... Keep spaceballs on the pine and more than likely have to let Ariza walk next year or put morrison on the pine and keep Ariza. That's a no brainer no matter how it's spun in my book.

Radmanovic has STARTED for you this year! I hate the Lakers and even I know that!

See previous post. Rad has seen minimal minutes since Walton has returned from injury. He has gone 3 and 4 game stretches where he hasnt even touched the floor.

His last 5 games... 7, 13, 6, 8, DNP.

I am not saying Morrison is better than Vlad, he is clearly not at this stage. However, with the little time Vlad is getting now... and the the depth of tha Lakers, it's a good move to clear cap and luxury tax space enabling the team to resign Ariza. Simple logic...

Aren't the Lakers the ones who signed Radmanovic to that absurd contract in the first place?

So which is it? Will he "fit the triangle better" or was he pursued "strictly for money reasons."

Why trade a 6'10 shooter for an inferior player when your starting center is out for the season?

Because neither Rad or Morrison would see the floor.

Because our center is not out for the season. He is projected to return late April.

Because it gives us cap and luxury tax relief in preperation to resign Ariza and Odom (some organizations look to the future and dont deal out of desperation)

And the most obvious reason of all.... They are the deepest and best team in the league regardless of some trade for a guy very low on the depth chart.

...oh, and to answer you question. They know what they had in RAD. Morrison, though doubtful, could excell in a different environment so there is a possibility. If that doesn't happen, the money aspects come into play. It's a no lose situation. Not to mention they get a backup point in case something should happen again to Farmar or Fisher.

I think everyone is overlooking the fact that the Lakers also get Morrison's mustache in this deal as well. That thing was made for Hollywood and could possibly have a hand is California's economic impact before all is said and done

Wow...maybe this helps from a salary perspective but not from a talent perspective. Morrison is no Vlad. Vlad is a legit bench player IMO. Morrision isn't a legit anything. At least with Vlad he can go on hot streaks. The only thing hot about Morrison is his PORN stache and then the only people that find it hot is ex 70's porn stars.

Morrison has been an ultimate bust in this league. Lakers lose in this trade from a talent standpoint.

Laughing at the bad deal on talent basis posts over guys who would see ZERO minutes in the playoffs.

Especially since it gives the Lakers a better chance to resign talent (Ariza and Odom) in the offseason.

:D

Sometiemes your GM has to give a little to gain in the long term. It's called looking ahead to keep your team at an elite level. I can certainly understand why you wouldnt grasp such a foreign concept.

Dont even attempt to talk about Kupcheck like he is the second coming of Christ. One deal to the Grizzlies made his resume. And that was more ineptitude on the Grizzlies part than effort from the Lakers.

I lived in L.A. during the not-so-great years for the Lakers. Your fans were lining up to help him move out of town, just like we are doing here in Phoenix for Kerr.

Then you should know that he has been buried on the bench for quite a while now, and gets hardly any playing time, at all. He was done with the Lakers, and you could gather as much from Mitch's conference call.

He started early in the year, but then basically got put down for good like a rabid dog. Cobbler is right, he's 11th in the rotation, if that.

Did i talk like he was the 2nd coming? Where did you get that impression? I was not one of those fans lining up to move him. If you feel the need to speak for all Laker fans, so be it. Just don't include me in your silliness.

Comparing Mitch to Kerr is as much a joke as your contention that the Gasol trade made his resume. He drafted Bynum, he has drafted Walton, Farmar, Sasha in late 2nd rounds. He traded Cook and Evans for Ariza. If you ask the majority of people for a one word description of the current laker team...it's "deep". And it's Mitch who has assembled it.

Second coming of christ? No. Done a damn good job as a GM? Yes! Cause last time I looked the Lakers have the best record in the NBA and are favorites to win it.

Comparisons to Kerr? Hillarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:biglaugh:

I am laughing at the concept of the deal being good just because he might see zero minutes. Vlad can play. Morrison cannot. That guy is a bust. It's not even close and you know it. It's still a must in this league to have guys on your bench that can play...REGARDLESS if they see the floor or not. I thought you might know that being the expert on your team and the Suns for that matter.

I like how on one hand you say good deal because of salary cap relief (which several others have already acknowledged) and on the other make a stupid comment like the one above. Then go on to criticize the comments of others just because from a player perspective they thinks it's bad.

Dude...your funny.

This is a good deal for the Lakers ONLY if it enables them to re-sign both Lamar and Ariza. If not, than it is simply a salary dump with a downgrade in talent (although the move really has no effect on wether the Lakers can win the championship or not, IMO). Even with that, Vlad had overstayed his welcome in LA, and the coaching staff was sick of dealing with him.

Don't get me wrong, Vlad can definetly play and is one of the better shooters in the league, but he is also reportably unprofessional and was a player that wasn't dependable on or off the court. Some would say that his trade could be considered 'addition by subtraction'.
