Ugghhhh... thought by now I've made this clear to just about the entire board here... :bang:

AZ is most certainly not my "home state"... I've only been here for 8 years. Spent the first 37 years of my life going to Yankee, Knick, Jets and Giants games. Please don't tell me about "loud" fans. I know loud fans like you will never know...

And I couldn't care less what UoP sounds like on TV. I can attest to the noise level there and IMO, it can often rival any other venue I have ever been to.

I believe I more than qualify for an "out-of-stater"... Start changing your mind...

Wow, guess I better bow down then.

I've been to Philly games, Giants games, a million Redskins games (RFK was about 15 times louder than Meadowlands) and countless others. The G-Men and Jets noise is nothing special at all. Any dome should be twice as loud as any outdoor arena. Next time your in NY go to a Syracuse Orangemen football game in the Carrier Dome. They win 2 games a year and it is still louder there than it is at the Giant's games. Bringing up Baseball and basketball is pointless. Why would I care if you went to a Knicks game? I am a lifetime Knicks fan and have been to the Garden for basketball as well as concerts and nothing in there compares to a football game because it only holds 20,000.

I bought 14 extra playoff tickets to go with the 6 season tickets I already had and all are spoken for by people who are Cardinal fans (some casual some hardcore). As someone else already mentioned casual fans think tickets are hard to get & expensive. When I told them I could get some & the price there was no hesitation. I do have a boatload of $ tied up until I get refunded for the Championship game but its worth it to me to see friends sit in those seats.

The reason it doesn't seem as loud on tv is because they are in a booth that is designed to keep alot of the crowd noise out. Until you've actually been to a game here, you shouldn't make judgements about it. I've not only lost my voice at games, but had my ears ringing from the noise.

chr!st on a stick, it could be 30 years until we do this again ( lets hope not thought eh!)

I would give my right arm to go the game. If i thought i could sell it for the £2000 it would cost me to get there then i would.

If i lived within driving distance and i could have a ticket for $65 i would be there in flash, sleep in car and head back home, day off sick form work, whatever it took.

the point is the games have sold out before, so it not that there are not enough fans there its just a case of them buying tickets. Its sad that we still seem to have the 25000 hard core fans that went to SDS and the whilst the number is creeping up it is taking time.

regular winning seasons will help a lot but as these tickets sales have shown it is slow.

....anyone want to buy an arm?

I too am more then happy to donate any of English's appendages on the off chance it could get me to UoP for a playoff game.

Bow if you feel so compelled young man! :p

So, you've been to other games/stadiums as well... Yet, have you been to a Cardinal game at UoP? I fail to see why it is relevant that you've been to other games/stadiums, yet have only "heard" the noice from UoP via a TV??

For the record, I've been to more than 10 Syracuse games at The Carrier Dome. Was one of my favorite routine college road trips as one of my closest high school buddies went to Syracuse... I went to school in RI so it was a reasonable weekend venture! And yes, the noise in the Carrier Dome was deafening. But then, I have also been to several college hoops games and they too were loud. I have also been to college football games at BC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Univ. of Florida and Texas A&M, and they too were extremely loud - perhaps louder than any NFL game I've been to. College kids can really crank it up! ;)

I referenced the Knicks, whether you agree or not, there are only a handful of venues that get as loud as MSG in the post season. I've been to several Knick playoff games and the noise was epic...
Same for Yankee Stadium. The noise there during a Red Sox-Yankee playoff game is as loud as any noise I have ever experienced anywhere else.

And finally, the noise at UoP at times (Cowboy game for example), IMO ranks right up there with all of the other venues I ahve been to...
Honestly - unless you have actually been to a game, I really can't take your assessment of the noise at UoP seriously...

In addition to Minnesota, apparently San Diego is also not certain to sell out.

What I hope is, the Bidwills will notice this, and what other teams have done, and not raise prices again for next season. I couldn't afford playoff tickets, really, but I still got them.

CardsfanMD,

U of P is loud, very loud. You will realize that once you actually experience it. Are there fans that cheer for the other team? Yes there are. Those people are no different from you when you go cheer on the Cards at Fedex or whatever the hell Ravens Stadium is called now. But to call the hometown fans weak is pretty off base. This team and the NFL has an entirely different past than teams back East. This metroplex has different demographics and issues unique to other cities. People move here from DC, Chicago, Kansas City, Wisconsin, Minnesota. People don't leave Phoenix to move to those places. As long as AZ has 8 months of awesome weather that will never change. San Diego's game day experience is very similar. People don't give up their NFL allegiences over night nor should they. But to call out the "fanbase" especially the 30k that carried this team through the dark ages is a bit unwarranted in my opinion. As far as people who are experiencing financial troubles, a big blow to the AZ economy is construction and real estate. People are hurting and no one should judge. I hope everyone enjoys the game and cheers on the Cards no matter how you plan on doing it.

Anyone have any idea how this thing is shaping up? Last night on the 12 News they said 8 thousand tix were still available. I agree with those who think the team isn't really doing enough to promote this thing. They should be blitzing the radio and TV right now and also talking to the tour groups of Texas, and Ohio State people to let their folks know they can see a playoff game for not too much money. It just seems like way more could be done to promote this thing.

I didn't know tickets were available until one of my buddies asked if I wanted to go yesterday. We now have tickets.

Call, email or write your friends and family. Try and get them to the game. There are 9 people that are coming to root for the Cards that weren't going to because I did that.

If there is only 8000 left, it's going to sell out. They will probably need to use the extension to get the blackout lifted though.

20% of me wants to go. 80% of me wants to stay and watch in HD, get drunk with no d.u.i., hit a roor or roll a swisher, and have a table/fridge full of grub.

If I could afford top 10 seats, I would go. I don't wanna see this game from the nose-bleeds.

Go Cards..

Here and there it gets loud, but for the most part it is a quiet crowd and this isn't a secret. Hell, from what I have heard the organization and stadium security encourage it.

The difference is that is your opinion based on what you hear on TV.

While mine opinion comes from being there for just about every game. Simply put you are wrong on all counts.

I have been to about 14 different stadiums to see the cards play, including UoP. I can tell you that TV doesn't do it justice. It is as loud in PHX as it is anywhere else. State of the art stadium with state of the art TV booths. I think they are made that way so TV announcers can have there peace and quiet time when they need it.

Oh and by the way I am still working on getting my son and I there. The chaepest flight out around here is $720 that is out of Chicago. If anyone out there has airline connections let me know. I am dying to get to this game, but wifey would kill me if I spent $2000, she would only mame me for spending $1000.

I have even tried to fly into Vegas or LA and the flights are just too expensive.

So my opinion is wrong because you say so?

How many other stadiums have you been to recently Ian? How many home games have you watched on TV instead of attending?

I am not saying it is always quiet there, Sunday when the game was almost over and the crowd forced back-to-back false starts on the Hags it seemed deafening. I am just saying that it gets quiet in their far too often.

You should never be able to hear yourself talk there on a defensive third down.

FWIW, there were over 100 people in line all day yesterday (and some the night before) hoping for those free playoff tickets from Alltel. Most people there couldn't afford to go to the game, they said.

Going to games ain't cheap. If I didn't have a credit card, Lord knows I wouldn't be going.
