ESPN is owned by the Mickey Mouse Network and tends to be more show-biz like in their coverage. NFL Net is more hard core.

That said - I'm recording both (so I can go back and pick up any Cardinal coverage from one that I missed by viewing the other).

Also - it makes sense to set up both channels as "Current" and "Last Channel" on your remote so you can toggle back and forth during commercials.

I've always watched ESPN, but I think I'll try NFL network this year. I may tivo espn also... just because.

NFL Network is more for the hardcore fan. And usually you need to be very hardcore to watch 10 to 20 hours of draft coverage.

I took three days off and sent my wife to her mothers for a reason. And it wasn't Kiper's hair.

Stout.... Get Directv or come on over baby. It's Cardinal Weekend in Harrisburg.

The house I'm at has a wooded hill blocking off the proper direction for DirecTV. They'd have to put up like a 100-ft pole or mast to make it work. I can't make it out to Harrisburg for the draft either, or I'd go out to you, or to Philly for Phillycard's draft (went there last year). Oh well. I'm going to have a nice enough setup as it is here.

I keep one TV on ESPN, and one on NFLN.

My desktop computer is on the ASFN chat room, (highly recommend if you haven't attended in the past) and I use my laptop to research picks as they happen.

The wife takes the kids somewhere for the day so I don't have any interuptions on day one.

Unfortunately, I usually don't get to watch much on day two though, so I'm a bit bummed by this years format change.

Is the draft later this year than normal? I remember having breakfast at the Rocking Rodeo at previous Cardinal draft parties...is it later this year because they are only doing 2 rounds on day 1 or was it the same start time last year?

I got an e-mail from the NFL that they're going to be simulcasting their draft coverage online. I believe that they navigated me to NFL.com/live.

Thanks...I was listening to Vinny Cerrato(sp?) of the Redksins today on the John Riggins show and he was complaining about the later start time. I am going to guess that most teams would rather get it over earlier but this adjustment was likely for the fans.

seriously though, I really dont care all that much, but I wonder if the later start will backfire on Goodell. If every team takes 10 min, its still a 5 hour 20 min 1st round.....

oh well, we'll see tommorow if the 09 draft moves back earlier

you know the radio is great for the draft. listening to your hometown guys is better. back in dallas to my favorite local radio station.....they had great draft coverage. they had inside interviews with the cowboys players and front office. they also had experts like gosselin on the show. radio is probably the way to go...now that you reminded me I'm gonna listen to them online....thanks.
