I think the league HATES suspending players. It works against the perception that all the players are good guys, clean guys, fair-play guys. They want to maintain the illusion that it's a sport you can bring the whole family to...you know so you can buy tickets for the whole family, and jerseys for the whole family...

Ya that would be a great concept if they hadnt suspended Amare and Boris in the biggest series of the playoffs last year.. Ya know the one where all of America was watching.. Dont even get me started on why Duncan wasnt suspended..

The referees should be watching Bowen constantly for those ticky tack fouls they so readily call on other players. Except Bowen's fouls can easily cause injury. The referees have to know about it.

he deserves it

Actually Bowen deserves more than a one game suspension. He kicked Paul in the face area while he was down... hard. This was certainly worth a 2 or more game suspension like Horry got when he bodied Nash into the scorer's table.

Absolutely did not get the punishment. He kicked Ray Allen in the back a couple of years back intentionally, and got fined $10K, and that was the dirtiest thing he did his whole career. And now he almost kneed Chris Paul and is suspended a game.

What can you say, no point complaining, but I just don't get the suspension at all.

But not the only dirty thing. Stuff adds up eventually.

No one expects you to "get it." You see it through the eyes of a SPURS fan.
So as the STERNS fans are so fond of saying.....
Get over it and stop crying.
It won't be his last suspension.

Almost??? LoL, yeah, sure...

Of course, Timmy D was there to offer his hand to CPaul.

In all fairness, it does look like CPaul tried to grab his crotch or hit him there. Can't tell if he connected or not. CPaul is no angel, ya know. Isn't he the one that kneed someone in the groin during the NCAA finals tourny?

Oh I get it, only Suns fans are unbiased, especially when looking at the players of their favourite teams arch nemesis the Spurs.

And if you actually read the post (doubtful), I did say that there is no point complaining about it, whatever is done is done. I promise I won't come back 8 months later and threaten to boo Stern/Jackson till their ears bleed when they visit San Antonio.

I am concerned that may you have a reading comprehension problem. If someone says "Spurs fans are ridiculously and blindly biased" they are not saying "and everyone else is objective." Just swallow the pill. You are incapable of being objective on the issue of Bowen's two kicks at Chris Paul.

Its funny how Spurs fans invade our board. I hope no Suns fans go there. Finally he gets suspended. They should hire one guy just to review every game Bowen plays.

Malone used to elbow whoever dared to be near him without being punished. Does the David Robinson knockout ring a bell? If you were fan of Malone, you'd always find a rationale for accepting his actions as simply the results of hard working. But later on, he got suspended for similar but even less consequential sins. What's you guys' take on that?

NBA was just telling people that Bowen-kind of dirty will be scrutinized and no longer tolerated with no bound. You can play hard and be a pest on defense, but you have to respect the other players' right of not living in a fear of getting injured playing against you. Is that so hard to grasp?

Don't forget Barkley's rebounds with his tornado grabs....it was all elbows swinging and he never tried to conceal any of that.

I love how Spurs fans are feeling cheated over this. Not a good feeling is it, you know, to feel like a bad decision by Stu Jackson and the league cost you something.

Feel good that they may have only cost you a game, as opposed to a chance at a title.

How do Spurs fan defend that scumbag? If Nash kicked or kneed someone in every other game, I wouldn't be defending him.

After seeing them complain about bowens single regular season who f'ing cares suspension like babies, while they were so easily unfazed by the suns suspensions during the playoffs which decided the title, I am now convinced that spurs fans are the lowest of the low.

Do you read Sports Illustrated? Are you aware that the magazine recently asked a bunch of NBA players who the dirtiest player in the league is, and Bowen won easily?

It's Spurs fans that are living in an alternate reality. Everyone else who knows anything about the NBA knows that Bowen is scum.

You are too kind. Bowen would have to float up about 20 feet in the pond to reach the level of scum.
