How can you call Kobe untouchable after the Lakers shopped him all offseason??? Bringing Moss into the equation doesn't make sense either since he had two poor years in Oakland and has character issues.

But they couldn't get value for him, which is why Kobe's still wearing a Lakers' jersey.

Fitz will be 25 on August 31 this year. He's astonishingly young and should continue to get better. I agree that we would have to be completely knocked on our keister by deal in order to trade him, but a WR that's going to be good for another 10 years is different than a QB that's going to be good for another 10 years, which is why Brady and Manning are untouchable but I'd move Fitz for Bryant McKinnie, Antoine Winfield, and a 2nd round pick and not look back. And I LOVE Fitz. I think he's a better WR than Anquan Boldin. But I like the Franchise more, and I think that McKinnie/Winfield/drafted RB gets us closer to winning the Super Bowl than great passing game/crappy running game/crappy defense has gotten us the last few seasons.

I love Fitz. Love him. But I love the franchise more.

Kiinda OT:

Where the heck is Shogun ? He always hates on ASFN for not supporting Fitz, yet when the guy is getting some love he is no where to be found.

I bet he has a thing or two to say about this B.S.

I was all for trading Fitz earlier this year, I'll admit it. Now, I am a firm believer in keeping his ass here and happy.

I am with stupid here. Before the season started I said that if I were Graves I would trade Fitz straight up for Lee Evans.:bang: Sorry Fitz, I will never doubt you again.

Isn't Fitz still only something like 22 years old. I thought he was one of the youngest in the league when he was drafted. If he stays injury-free, he has about 10-15 more very productive years. It better be beyond a blockbuster offer to even think about it.

I think Whis knows he doesn't have to give up a lot to get another good running back. His old running back Willie Parker went undrafted. As for o-line, it would make more sense to get Faneca than to try to build the line in the draft. Lutui and Brown are both young and won't need to be replaced.

I think Whis will focus on adding depth to CB and safety and add a running back in the draft. No need to sacrifice a top 5 receiver and jeopardize one of the few positions that is a strength to try to bolster areas that aren't necessarily weaknesses.

Here I am. I wanted to post on it, but I don't really see the point to voice my displeasure because - A) it's a given that I hate hearing this trade talk pop up. B) Larry Fitzgerald has pretty much silenced his peanut gallery this year. He really shut it down this time.

Simply put: Management and fans should be hung by their raisins if they even entertain such a thought. Period.

Hard to say that any player is untouchable. Brady and Manning are untouchable in the NFL. LeBron James and maybe Kobe Bryant in the NBA are untouchable. There are maybe five players in MLB who are untouchable.

80% of wide receiver production is interchangeable, especially with how often we passed last season. I don't think you would trade Fitzgerald for one player, or one draft pick, but if you could get a Pro Bowl player and another solid starter for Larry Fitzgerald, especially at a position like OT or CB, which are far more rare than good WRs, or a Pro Bowl player and a high draft pick (top 20 or so), I think that you have to think about it.

Randy Moss--RANDY MOSS--was traded for a fourth-round pick. If you can get a Herschel Walker-type deal for Larry Fitzgerald, then you have to take advantage.

Well said. I would absolutely entertain offers for Fitz. Especially now that his value it's riding a wave.

I agree. Not even close.

I dunno. But this debate has been hashed out way too many times to count, and to tell you the truth I don't remember this thread being about Boldin.

I have giving up trying to decide which is better but there is a big difference between potential and production in the NFL.

But what kind of offers.

Fitz is a franchise WR. Look at first, his numbers over that last few years, second his age, third the improvement over this year alone, and last some of the freakish plays he made this year.

He gives the options to the Cardinals that no other team has. The hail mary he caught this year was absolutely sick. There is NO, and I repeat NO other WR in the NFL that makes that catch. Randy Moss can jump high enough but doesn't have the strength to muscle the ball away from 4 defensemen, and TO has the muscle but not the hops.

If a trade was ever to be made for Fitzgerals I wanna see at least two 1st round picks, a second round pick, and two other player of pro bowl quality in there prime. Otherwise you are just giving your future away in my opinion.

Hes 24 I believe will be 25 at the beginning of this coming season. Saying he has 15 more productive years is wishful thinking at its best. A realistic # is 6-7 years maybe 8 before you start to see a drop off. He isnt a burner to begin with and when he hits his 30's hes only going to get slower, Jump lower, and body will begin to break down. He has already went two years in a row with missing time due to leg injuries. Those can become chronic especially as you get older.

I never questioned his talent, just his untimely fumbles. He more than made up for it in the end.

Sounds like they just briefly covered this topic on the show and put it to rest quickly. I DVR'ed the show, I might watch it later, but it doesn't sound very probable that Fitz is going anywhere. I think AZ fans would riot if they traded Boldin or Fitz.

Would be a record for the world's smallest riot.

When is the last time we seen a blockbuster trade in the NFL. Fitz isn't going anywhere.
The biggest acquisitions are players that are released like Moss. When contracts are in place it makes it very difficult to trade players.

Lets never have another "Fitz being shopped" thread ever again.

So I watched the show.. yeah there is nothing to this at all. They ended up doing a 2 minute bit on how there is no way in hell Fitz is going anywhere. I guess we're just going to have "fitz on the block" rumors every off season.

I think in today's NFL it is too difficult to get equal value by trading a player of this caliber unless creating cap space is part of the value. I don't think you can even think about a trade like this unless you KNOW you're coming out of it with a premier offensive line AND your running back situation is squared away. It's really hard to see an NFL team sacrificing their own O-line for a receiver, but that's just my take.
