The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to get good production out of rookie wide receiver Zachariah Branch this season. Branch has made some highlight plays in training camp for the Falcons.
His latest play was a touchdown catch over NFL veteran defensive back Darnay Holmes. Branch won with quickness at the point of attack and immediately gained separation from Holmes. Branch used his speed to maintain separation and hauled in the pass with one-hand before securing it. Holmes made a swipe at the ball at nearly jarred it loose, but Branch did just enough to hold on and score the touchdown on a well-placed pass from quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Branch is a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Branch is a former Georgia Bulldog, so he will be a fan favorite for many Falcons fans. The shifty receiver set Georgia's single-season receptions record during the 2025 college football season and should be a good complement to tight end Kyle Pitts, running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London in the Atlanta offense.
Branch has been drawing a lot of praise at training camp. "You see him," Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said. "He's usually open."
"Zachariah (Branch) is wired the right way, and that's something we knew going into the draft and certainly have figured out about him spending so much time with him in the offseason program into training camp," Atlanta coach Kevin Stefanski said. "He's somebody that really puts in the effort on a day-to-day basis."
