The FIBA U17 World Cup is always a chance to see young players, and in this year’s edition, that’s more true than ever.
Most Duke fans had no idea just how good Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje is because he has been playing in Spain, well off the AAU circuit and not even much YouTube.
But after he committed, Blue Devil fans caught on quickly, and now generally realize that he’s an exceptionally promising talent.
This video is the full game of the U.S. vs. Japan, and while Japan was not a challenging opponent, you get to see a lot of Boumtje Boumtje, and at least two Duke recruiting targets, AJ Williams, and Beckham Black.
As noted previously, Boumtje Boumtje was quite dominant here, with 7 blocked shots, 16 points, and 7 rebounds.
It’s going to be fun to watch him play in Cameron.
