Younghoe Koo is coming back to the North Jersey area.

According to multiple reports, the New York Jets are signing Koo to a contract as part of their upcoming kicker competition. Connor Hughes of SNY was the first to report the move.

Koo, who played football at Ridgewood High School, had a tumultuous tenure with the New York Giants last season. He appeared in five games with Big Blue in place of the injured Graham Gano, going 4-for-6 on field goals and 11-for-12 on extra points.

His time with the Giants is perhaps most known for botching a field goal attempt against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football in December, where Koo kicked into the ground before making contact with the ball.

He was then released by the Giants two weeks later on Dec. 16.

Koo, 31, previously spent seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Jets currently have Lenny Kreig and Cade York on the roster at kicker.
