Earlier this week the Warriors worked out recent NCAA champion and Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg. Considering Golden State's desire to win now, Lendeborg is considered one of the more complementary prospects that the team could land with their No. 11 overall pick.
When asked about his ability to make an impact with the Warriors right away, Lendeborg surprised many with his answer, saying, “I would say, like, five assists a game, maybe, to start off. A lot of defense, fast break opportunities for me," said Lendeborg. "If I were here, I'd be more like a secondary ball-handler. Whenever Steph (Curry) is taken out of the game, I’ll be there to assist, maybe provide a little more offense."
Not known for his passing ability in school, Lendeborg is rather highlighted as one of the stronger defensive prospects in the 2026 NBA Draft. Last season at Michigan, Lendeborg averaged 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks. That said, the forward seems to be a hot commodity around the association, having already worked out with six teams, including Golden State, with at least two more workouts scheduled before the draft.
