NEW YORK – As you might imagine, Giancarlo Stanton is OK with lefty-hitting teammate Jazz Chisholm Jr. borrowing a pair of his game pants.

“I think it’s cool,’’ a smiling Stanton said Tuesday. “Especially since he’s been raking.’’

While the Yankees’ second baseman has enjoyed a hot recent stretch at the plate, Stanton has been limited to hitting off the Trajekt pitching machine these last few weeks.

Sidelined since April 25, due to a strained right calf, Stanton said he’s in “a holding pattern.’’

Last week, a comparison MRI revealed that Stanton’s condition hadn’t improved to the point where he’d be cleared to ramp up his rehab to running, though he feels better physically than the results showed.

“I want to be back as soon as possible,’’ said Stanton, who has been doing plyometrics in lieu of running. For now, he’s “got to be careful not to make it (a) longer (recovery) than it needs to be.’’

So, he’s left to watch Chisholm trot or tear around the bases in his pinstriped pants this homestand.

“Well, they’ve got homers in them,’’ Stanton said of his baseball britches.
