Pitcher Carlos Lagrange has a capsular sprain of the right shoulder and will not throw for approximately six weeks, the New York Yankees announced June 3.
Lagrange was placed on the minor league injured list, but the extent of his injury was not revealed until now.
The latest update casts doubt on Lagrange’s ability to be an impact reliever down the stretch — a role the Yankees were grooming him for when they moved him from their Triple-A rotation to their bullpen earlier this season.
