I absolutely hate the fact that the New York Yankees are going to miss Aaron Judge for a significant amount of time. Even from a pure baseball standpoint, losing the best player in the game, at least offensively speaking, is such an unfortunate situation.

Judge, who has done nothing but swing the bat at a high level, also isn't replaceable by the Yankees. No matter what they do at the trade deadline or prior to that, attempting to replace Judge is pretty much impossible.

Unless the Yankees went out and got some of the best hitters in the world, and perhaps even more than just one, there's about a 0% chance that they're going to replace his production with anybody in the league at the moment.

What I also have a problem with is what Brian Cashman has to say about the Yankees losing Judge. While I understand that it's going to be very difficult to replace a player of his caliber, for the Yankees to not go out and even attempt to improve with Judge now sidelined is a big problem.

"He's a significant player," Cashman said, per CBS. "We got a lot of different guys, and you know, some are gonna have to step up, and some will get new opportunities to show what they've got, and you know, we got a good club, regardless, but it's obviously not as good without Aaron Judge, but still good enough."

"They're more than capable," said Cashman. "They're really good players. We do believe in them. It would be great if they started ramping all that up and joining the party, too. They have at times. It's a grind, but it's a long season too. So I think hopefully the best is yet to come from those positions."

The one thing I question here is why Cashman is now taking this approach. At the beginning of the season, many started to question whether Cashman was finally taking things as seriously as he needed to.

Not to say that he wasn't taking things seriously prior to that, but it felt like this was a completely different year for the Yankees. They decided to option Anthony Volpe before Jose Caballero got injured, were making quick moves to ensure they had the best chance of winning, and for other factors.

Now, with their best player out, it doesn't seem like that's the case any longer, and I just don't understand why.
