At least they stayed for the whole game.

Not that Fox and ESPN aren't taking every chance to add fuel the fire of this ridiculous and tiresome rivalry.

Did you know that JD Drew is wearing a Red Sox jersey? In Yankee Stadium? And that he won the MVP award? In a Red Sox jersey?

Thanks Jeanne...

Papelbon wanted to ride in the popemobile. Maybe they should have had a Papmobile for him. OK, that was bad, but irresistable.

And at the other extreme is Dan Uggla. Four at-bats -- 3 strikeouts and hit into a double play. Plus an All Star first -- made three errors in one game, and was sloppy on some others.

Haren and Webb each did well in representing the D'backs.

I hope that this game will force Bud-lite Selig to rescind his assinine policy of using the All Star game to decide which team has the home field advantage in the World Series.

There would not have been another inning tonight. What would he have done then about the World Series?

The league that wins the All Star game has no direct correlation to the teams playing in that year's World Series.

My choice is to give home field advantage throughout the post-season to the teams with the best won-lost percentage.

You win more than your opponent, no matter which round, you've earned the right to have home field advantage.

Of course, then the D'backs would not have won a World Series championship. Nor if it was based on who won the All Star game that year.

Bob Brenly (as Bob Melvin) manage for the moment, not for the long haul. At least Brenly had the intelligence to manage skilfully for the moment.

Keeping Randy out of the games in Yankee Stadium was a masterful move. It's why we won the Series.
