WWE, Tom Brady ‘In Negotiations’ For WrestleMania 42 Appearance

WWE and NFL legend Tom Brady may be forming an unlikely alliance.

In recent weeks, the 7-time Super Bowl Champion and WWE’s Logan Paul have trashed talk back and forth in the lead-up to the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. During an appearance on Paul’s Impaulsive podcast (h/t Yahoo! Sports), Brady told Paul that he wasn’t on the same level as elite NFL athletes like Saquon Barkley and Justin Jefferson.

If that sounds like the start of a WWE feud, it just might be. Yes, In true pro wrestling style, Brady and Paul have spent weeks carefully crafting a rivalry in an effort to generate interest in the celebrity flag football tournament in Los Angeles, as the two stars verbally sparred over WWE’s scripted nature.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Brady infamously called WWE “so cute and scripted,” prompting several WWE tars to respond. WWE’s biggest defender has been Paul, the YouTuber-turned-wrestler who performs on Monday Night Raw as a member of The Vision stable.


And there is more to the verbal sparring between Brady and Paul than meets the eye.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Clutch Points), Brady and WWE are “in negotiations” for a possible WrestleMania 42 appearance: “From what I have been told, they are in negotiations for Tom Brady, but there’s absolutely not a deal at this point for Tom Brady. So it could happen, obviously, Logan Paul and Tom Brady are working; everyone knows they’re working the angle. I think people have seen that coming in, but there could be something in some form at WrestleMania.”

Cue the Tom Brady entrance in Allegiant Stadium.

Brady is a minority owner of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, who play their home games in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the site of next month’s WrestleMania 42 event. It would appear that WWE and Brady have at least discussed a potential WrestleMania role for arguably the greatest NFL player ever for quite some time now.

According to WrestleVotes (h/t WrestleZone), “WWE had informal talks with Brady’s representatives last year after they decided to bring WrestleMania back to Las Vegas. The report notes that some departments within the company are working on logos, specialty merchandise, and branding for the NFL legend.”

Indeed, all the signs are pointing toward Brady crossing over into the world of sports entertainment.

Brady is also a stakeholder in Fanatics, which produces WWE merchandise, and he has taken a page right out of the pro wrestling playback during his supposed feud with Paul: Go at it verbally, leading to a big clash on the field. Well, in this case, it could be under the bright lights of the WWE ring.

While WrestleVotes notes that Brady would be unlikely to actually wrestle, his sudden and frequent mentions of WWE are positive indications that the GOAT of the NFL could be making his way to the squared circle next month.
