WWE Extreme Rules 2018 is headlined by Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns, AJ Styles vs. Rusev for the WWE Championship and Seth Rollins battling Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental title. Last month's Money in the Bank was a surprisingly good showing from WWE after the poorly received Backlash pay-per-view the month prior, but with TV viewership for both Raw and SmackDown trending back in the wrong direction since Money in the Bank, WWE is hoping to reverse that trend beginning at Extreme Rules. At least on paper, Extreme Rules has a solid card that also includes Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jeff Hardy for the United States Championship and Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax as the latest step in a heated rivalry
