In 2023, the MLB All-Star Game was played in Seattle.

In 2001, then President George W. Bush threw out the first pitch in Game 3.
In 2023, former President George W. Bush will throw out the first pitch of Game 1.

In 2001, Dbacks ace Randy Johnson hit and killed a bird with a pitch during a Spring Training game.
In 2023, Dbacks ace Zac Gallen hit and killed a bird while playing catch pre-game in Oakland.

that is quite a coincidence. devil's advocate: maybe all of that is what it will take to end the rangers WS drought...

If this were the 2001 D-backs the rangers would have no hope to win. I wouldn't step into the batter box against Randy Johnson if I were paid one million dollars.

from a neutral who watched the 2001 WS, that is still the best WS I've ever watched. clearly better than the 2011 one IYKYN...
