FOXBOROUGH - On Friday France secured not only first place in Group I, but also a potential trip back to Gillette Stadium for the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup with a 4-1 win over Norway.

It was predetermined that the winner of the group would be on Foxborough’s side of the bracket.

In the Round of 32, France will play a third-place team from Group C, D, F, G or H on Tuesday in New Jersey. The winner of that contest will then play the winner of Germany and another third place team in the Round of 16 on July 4 in Philadelphia.

After that would be the potential return to Gillette on July 9 for the quarterfinals, which is also the final World Cup match in Foxborough.

Norway will play Ivory Coast in the Round of 32 on Tuesday in Arlington. After that would be a Round of 16 matchup with either Brazil or Japan on July 5 in New Jersey.

The quarterfinal for Norway’s portion of the bracket would be on July 11 in Miami.
