After a four-year wait, the World Cup is here, and the 39-day event has arrived in Philadelphia.

The City of Brotherly Love is one of 13 cities hosting the FIFA Fan Festival, which was scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. June 11 and end at 8 p.m.

Each day, fans should have the opportunity to attend the festival, which is located at Lemon Hill Park, free of charge. But advance registration is being required.

Philly FIFA Fan Festival details

The FIFA Fan Festival is designed to allow fans to gather and watch matches on days when no games are being played in Philadelphia. Prizes and immersive photos are to be offered.

On top of that, the FIFA Fan Festival is to feature the Philadelphia Phestival Marketplace, an area where local artists sell World Cup-based art exclusive to the area.

FIFA organizers have also set up an area for food trucks from around the city to station, allowing those in attendance to grab something to eat from some of the best food trucks in the country.

Concerts and other live events are to take place on days when games aren't happening in Philadelphia. Fans are to be required to purchase a ticket.

Philadelphia is set to host six World Cup games at Lincoln Financial Field, including one game in the Round of 16 on the Fourth of July.

SEPTA World Cup info

With such a big event in town, changes have been made to public transportation in the area.

On match days, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is offering extra B (Broad Street Line) rides to and from NRG Station, along with the B and L (Market-Frankford Line) operating all night and running every 30 minutes.

Along with that, SEPTA is also offering extra bus services on Routes 32 and 48. Buses are to run at most every 15 minutes from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

For the duration of the tournament, the price to ride the SEPTA is to remain at $2.90.
