If this game comes down to the abilities of the head coaches, I do not like our chances. Belichick's experience will be too much for Kingsbury to overcome. By all rights, the Cardinals should win this game based on team talent.

TBF we're 0-2 this season against Patriots disciples. Kinda feel like Bill will have the blueprint for us.

If Kyler's not sharp early or Kliff's gameplan/management is spotty we could be in for another down to the wire game.

Bears have dropped 4 straight, Vikings just lost to the Cowboys, and the Lions just got shut out. None of these teams should be threats.

My real concern is that what NE is going to try and do, run the ball, is what we are the worst at defending right now due to all the injuries. They apparently lost burkhead which means Damien Harris is fully entrenched as their #1 RB, averaging 5.4 ypc. Cam of course can still run, and I think Sony Michel is getting healthy. So I fully expect them to try and run the ball down our throats knowing how we're playing more and more lineups with 2 or less DL's in there. We're going to have to play a more traditional D line against their run game.

If we stop the run..... We win.

It's usually never this cut and dry IMO.

With Burkhead out, Michel will be activated most likely but they have different skill sets entirely. Losing Wynn at LT would hurt them a bit as they attempt to run off the edges.

the weather report, if it remains as positive as it is now, bodes well for us. As long as we STOP THE RUN.

last week was tough as the Cards d-line injuries set up Seattle for what they wanted to do --run the ball, take the burden off Russ, pass then they choose to

it also seemed like when Seattle went 11 personnel, the Cards ran that 2 DL alignment out there, even in early downs --

Seemed pretty cut and dry what we should do against Miami. Blitz Tua, put him under pressure, confuse him with defensive looks.

We did none of that. Vance probably play 8 yard cushions with the DB's too deep to help in run support and lots of space for the receivers. Vance likes to zig when he should zag.

Main differences: An unknown rookie who we made look like a HOF'er versus a know quantity whose skill set has quickly deteriorated.

As for the coaching competition......... We've lost that for both games in spades.

Stopping the run is much easier to say than...... Stop the rookie QB, who we have very little tape on and don't know what his true skill set is. Combined with the fact that he is already a better pure passer than Cam ever was.

What worries me, is the same really goes for the Pat's. Except they really only have to stop Kyler.

We have lost every game in which Kyler hasn't run much.

Lions - Only 29 yards - Lost
Panthers - He had 78 yards but about 50 of them came on one super long run late in the game when it was already over - Lost
Seattle - 15 yards - lost

They were also our lowest scoring games with only 21, 23 and 21 points. If you can stop Kyler running you reduce our average score by about 10.

Only the Miami game where he has run well that we have lost but we still put up 31 points. That was a defensive / turnover loss.

Basically, if you have a reasonable offense and you can stop Kyler running then you have a greater than even chance of winning. I'm not sure the Pats have the offense, but if anyone can stop Kyler running it's BB.

they did score 31 points vs the Dolphins ( and had a 49 yard fg for 34 points the kicker missed) -- that doesnt feel like an answer to me

we can't start slow as molasses again this week.

last four games / score after 1st two possessions / deficit during the 1st half:

SEA 0-10 , -13
MIA 0-7, -7
BUF 3-10, -7
at SEA 0-7, -9

they have spent the month behind early and digging out of a hole. Its hard to win that way

That miami and Detroit losses will sting if cards fail this weekend...

This is why I never got too worked up about the Seattle game.

We need 3 of these 4: Philly, NE, San Fran, & NYG.

If we do that...... We will make the playoffs.

Odds are that we will get swept by the rams so they are super important now. "Must win" if you will.

I was just wondering if we’ve led in any 1st half in the last four games. Miami maybe?

nope -- they tied it for about 9 minutes in the Miami game, and tied it for 5 minutes in the SEA game

the killer was after starting slow, the offense gets the score to tie the game....and the D gives up a score on the very next possession.
