Coyotes second-round draft pick Kevin Bahl has a great hockey origin story. Was playing soccer at age 5 or 6, collided with a kid, head on, and got a bloody nose. Was done with soccer. Dad said, “OK, let’s try hockey.”

In a cool coincidence, Bahl was working with Coyotes skating coach Dawn Braid when he was a Bantam. Gives her enormous credit for making him a good skater, especially at his size. Bahl also likes the physical game. He said he likes to “blow people up” from time to time.
