Losing Caroline Harvey and Lacey Eden is no joke, so it's clear Mark Johnson has his work cut out for him ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Fresh off their second straight National Championship, the Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey program is looking for a trifecta.

Not only has Wisconsin won back-to-back National Titles, but they've won three of the last four, and more impressively, five of the last seven.

No team has three-peated since Minnesota Duluth did so from 2001-03. In order for the Badgers to do so, they're going to need quite a few players to step up now that Harvey is PWHL-bound and four-time National Champion, Lacey Eden, has graduated.

Harvey, 23, is a two-time Olympic medalist and has a pair of golds in the World Championships, along with a gold in the World U18 Championship. There's no doubt her contributions at the collegiate level helped bring Wisconsin to the top, but fans can't sleep on Johnson and just how good of a coach he truly is.

All in all, Wisconsin still has a ton of difference makers on its 2026-27 roster. The likes of Kelly Gorbatenko, Kirsten Simms, and Cassie Hall will all be back, along with star goaltender Ava McNaughton.

Winning a third straight National Championship isn't out of the question; it's just a matter of who can step into the massive void Harvey and Eden left now that they're no longer on the team.
