Wisconsin’s women’s basketball program (16-17) orchestrated a late surge to overcome Harvard (20-12) 64-61 to advance to the WBIT Semifinals on Thursday.

After entering intermission knotted at 26 apiece, the Badgers and Crimson traded blows throughout the entirety of the third quarter until Harvard's Abigail Wright piloted a 7-0 surge to morph a 33-32 deficit into a 39-33 edge. Wisconsin's Kyrah Daniels and Lily Krahn would counter with five unanswered points to cut UW's deficit to one, 39-38.

Harvard punched back with an 8-2 run to open the fourth before pulling away with a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws to make it 54-46 with under a minute to play. Over the ensuing three possessions, though, Daniels nailed a pair of looks from outside and dished inside to Dorja Zaja for a layup to bring her squad within two, 56-54.

A Wisconsin trap forced a jump ball, and Destiny Howell capitalized with a layup to tie the game at 56-56 on the Badgers' next possession to send the game to overtime.

In the extra frame, Wisconsin and Harvard exchanged blows until Howell made a pair of free throws to put Wisconsin ahead by three, this time for good.

As a team, Wisconsin shot 43.9% from the floor, 33.3% from deep and 75% from the charity stripe. Gift Uchenna finished with a team-best 17 points, followed by 15 from Daniels and 13 from Howell.

UW is now set to play No. 3 Columbia on Monday, March 30 in the WBIT Semifinals.
