The 2026 NCAA men's hockey National Championship game features two teams that are quite familiar with one another.

For the 156th time, the Wisconsin Badgers and Denver Pioneers are set to do battle. This time, it's a game that will determine the National Champion.

Wisconsin and Denver haven't played on neutral ice since March 20, 2010, when the Badgers pulled out a 6-3 win.

The Badgers have that win under their belt and lead the all-time series, 76-66-13, but Denver has been dominant in recent years.

April 11, 2026, marks these teams' first meeting since October 26, 2024. Wisconsin went to Denver that weekend and came up short in both games, losing 4-2 and 6-1.

In their last eight meetings, Wisconsin has lost seven times. A 3-3 tie on November 20, 2015, doesn't make up for the fact that Denver holds six straight victories over the Badgers.

Wisconsin is just 1-7-2 in its last 10 meetings against the Pioneers, but it also had a similar record against North Dakota. Knowing the Badgers just defeated the Fighting Hawks, 2-1, that could be a sign of good things to come in Las Vegas.

Shockingly, Wisconsin has six more wins on the road against Denver compared to at home. On neutral ice, the Badgers have won four of the five all-time meetings.

Back in 1973, Wisconsin defeated Denver in the National Championship game, 4-2.
