Wisconsin Badgers legend Cole Caufield has found a way to add another award to his resume.

For the first time in program history, a former Badger has gone on to win the Lady Byng Trophy.

Caufield, who was nominated early last month, took down the Los Angeles Kings' Anze Kopitar and the Ottawa Senators' Jake Sanderson.

Remember, this award has been around since 1924-25, so it's rather remarkable that it's taken this long for a former Badgers skater to bring home the hardware.

Each and every year, the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy "is presented annually to the player judged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability."

"It's a major award!"

Congrats to Cole Caufield!!!

First Badger to win the Lady Byng.

Other Badgers have won the Calder (Rookie of the Year), Norris (Best Defenseman), Vezina (Best Goaltender), Masterton (Perseverance), King Clancy (Community Contribution), William Jennings… https://t.co/s6MA1YcRtO
