Wisconsin transfer tight end Tanner Koziol is on a visit to Houston, according to 247Sports' Chris Hummer.
This news follows Koziol officially entering the transfer portal upon its opening on Wednesday. The four-star transfer spent just a few months with the Badgers -- he's headed elsewhere after joining the program in December during the winter portal window.
Koziol is currently 247Sports' No. 71 overall transfer and No. 3 tight end. Considering only the spring window, he's the No. 4-ranked uncommitted transfer and the top player at his position.
The highly touted tight end caught 94 passes for 839 yards and eight touchdowns for Ball State in 2024. That campaign capped off an impressive three-year run with the Cardinals, including 36 games played, 163 total receptions, 1,507 yards and 18 scores. More than just transfers, ProFootballFocus ranks the rising senior as the top returning tight end in all of college football.
Koziol is visiting a Houston program that has gone 4-8 in each of its first two seasons in the Big 12. It was previously in the American from 2013-22, a decade that included a 13-1 (2015) and 12-2 (2021) campaign and nine bowl appearances.
Wisconsin, meanwhile, will likely address the tight end position during the spring transfer window. Junior Tucker Ashcraft is currently the team's projected starter, although he has just 20 catches, 168 yards and two touchdowns in two seasons with the program. The Badgers are in search of their first 150-plus receiving-yard tight end since Jake Ferguson tallied 450 in 2021.
