Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's long wait for his international debut finally came to an end last Saturday in Manchester as the 15-year-old was handed his first cap with the Indian national team in a loss against England at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
Despite failing to convert to a big score, his 14 off 10 balls showed the same fierce attacking style that allowed him to score 776 runs in this year's IPL and claim his maiden Orange Cap at the age of 15.
But while Indian fans have finally seen how he performs for the Men in Blue, his performance today matters even more.
The management finally took the bold decision to drop T20 World Cup hero Sanju Samson in favour of young Sooryavanshi, and that means they are expecting him to play as he does domestically.
With India already trailing 1-0 after a loss and a washout in the first match, his score today will play a big role in India's comeback.
