Game 3 of the NBA Finals is setting up to be a spectacle like no other. It's the first Finals game at Madison Square Garden since 1999, with rabid New York Knicks fans ready to make themselves heard and will the team to a 3-0 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs.

But there's also the presence of Donald Trump, which throws an entirely different set of circumstances on to what's already a seismic event. And while we can talk all about the logistics for fans and everyone else at MSG, we're here to focus on something else: The Donald Trump sports curse. Oh yes, it's a real thing. And while you could frame it in a different way if the Knicks lose -- that he helped the Spurs win -- I'd say this applies given that he's a born-and-raised New Yorker.

Let's go over the history of the curse, and we'll see if we add the Knicks to this list soon enough:

He was there in New Orleans to become the first sitting president at a Super Bowl. And he had picked the Chiefs before the game... which ended with a Philadelphia Eagles blowout.

Per the AP at the time, Trump left the track after the weather delay was announced. Is it considered a curse if the weather doesn't cooperate? We say: Yes.

It wasn't the worst day for the United States against Europe, but they were down three points after the Friday he was there at Bethpage Black. The U.S. would end up losing overall.

Besides getting booed by the fans in Washington, Trump watched as the Commanders lost 44-22 in a complete blowout. Yikes.

Even though he didn't attend this one, Trump spoke about how owner Robert Kraft was a friend and how "he's got the great team again." I think we can count this after the Seahawks won.
