Former New England Patriots great Rob Gronkowski has a solid chance to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2027.

Gronkowski is arguably the best tight end in NFL history. He won four Super Bowls in his career, including three with the Patriots. A four-time All-Pro honoree who registered four 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career, Gronkowski has the accomplishments to gain entry into the Hall of Fame without having to wait.

CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo appraised Gronkowski as being “good as gold” to enter the Hall of Fame in 2027.

”Injuries may have slowed him down, but it hasn't stopped Gronkowski from being in the conversation among the greatest tight ends in NFL history,” DeArdo said. “Along with being a constant mismatch in the passing game, Gronkowski was a devastating blocker, which strengthens his case as the most complete tight end of all time. His unique talent helped him win four Super Bowls.”

Gronkowski is deserving of induction into the Hall of Fame as a first-ballot entrant. His combination of individual and team success suggests so.

Former Patriots great Dont’a Hightower will also be eligible for entry into the Hall of Fame for the first time next year, but he was evaluated as a long-shot to enter as a first-ballot inductee. He was a second-team All-Pro honoree in 2016 and helped the team win three Super Bowls in his career.
