The Houston Texans already knew they'd be down one offensive starter on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, but more players are resting ahead of the wild-card round beginning next week.
According to the Texans' inactive list, right tackle Trent Brown will miss Sunday's contest at NRG Stadium after dealing with a knee injury. This will be the second straight game he's missed after suffering a leg contusion in Week 16's win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Right now, the plan is to move Blake Fisher over to right tackle in place of Brown. Rookie left tackle Aireontae Ersery is expected to play after undergoing surgery on his thumb ahead of Week 17, though he did miss Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers after being limited in practice.
Fisher, a former second-round pick, stepped in at left tackle for Ersery against Las Vegas and he is preparing to play Sunday. With the Texans this season, he has primarily operated as an extra tackle in their jumbo package with six offensive linemen, but was expected at one point to be the Texans' future long-term right tackle.
With a victory over the Colts, Houston will inch toward a third AFC South title in as many seasons. Finishing with 12 wins would mark the most victories for the Texans since 2012, but a loss by the Jacksonville Jaguars would also give the Texans the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Here's a look at both team's inactive list for Sunday's contest.
Sunday's game will air on CBS at Noon CT on Sunday. According to BetMGM, the Texans open as a 10.5-point home favorite over the Colts, with the over/under set at 40.
