As ESPN’s Marty Smith gears up to host Nashville’s free Super Bowl Community Celebration Wednesday, eventgoers might have to prepare for inclement weather, according to the National Weather Service.

On May 19, the National Football League announced its intent to grant Nashville and new Nissan stadium Super Bowl LXIV in 2030. As a result, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation is hosting an event on lower Broadway to celebrate the NFL’s decision.

Gates for the event open at 6:30 p.m., but those in attendance may have to bear the elements. According to the NWS there’s a chance for severe storm in Middle Tennessee this afternoon and evening.

The weather pattern ranks “level 1 out of 5,” according to a NWS Nashville social post. “This means isolated wind gusts & large hail air possible with some weakening storms that will be moving in from the northwest.”

Tornado risk is “very low,” according to NWS.
