Caleb Foster is a key piece of the Duke Blue Devils' puzzle. The junior wing is a veteran leader for a lineup loaded with underclassman talent. He's a tough, versatile player who adds value on both sides of the ball, shooting well from deep, barreling into the lane for contested baskets and bringing aggressive, long-armed defense.

Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, their 2026 NCAA Tournament run will likely go on without him. While the combo guard is still putting up shots in practice, they've had to come with one leg on a mobility scooter. Foster broke his foot in Duke's regular season finale win over arch rival North Carolina. While head coach Jon Scheyer says he's "progressing well," there's minimal chance he'll be able to suit up even for a national championship game appearance.

Foster suffered the fracture March 7. The tournament ends April 6. That would be an extremely quick turnaround from a serious injury. While not impossible, it's likely Foster's impact through March Madness will come as a supportive teammate from the bench.
