Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever came out on top in a heated game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday afternoon. While the Fever got the win, it appeared that it may have come at a cost.
Clark recorded her eighth technical foul of the season after making contact with the baseline official. The technical foul would have triggered a one-game suspension, according to WNBA rules. During her post-game press conference, Clark explained went happened during the incident, and was hopeful her technical would be rescinded.
“She said I ran into her,” Clark said, via the Associated Press. “I have already watched it on the tape. So, we’ll let the league decide. But, it wasn’t anything intentional or anything. So, I hope it gets rescinded. And, nothing was said.”
And now, Fever fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Immediately after the game, the Clark’s technical foul was rescinded, so there will be no suspension. She will now play in Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty.

Like Clark, Fever head coach Stephnie White noted how the contact with the official was incidental, and no technical foul should have been given.
“That’s a bad call, incidental contact when you’re flying out of control,” White said. “I thought her teammates should have come up and talked to her about that as well. I think that’s really bad. that (expletive) happens all the time in the game. you know, officials have to have some awareness in those moments, and it didn’t happen.”
Luckily for the Fever, the league agreed, and Clark will now be on the court for Tuesday night’s primetime game on ESPN. Tip-off between the Liberty and Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
