The Pittsburgh Steelers have multiple players with contracts set to expire as the new league year rapidly approaches. Defensively, the Steelers are set to lose a few cornerbacks in free agency, such as Asante Samuel Jr., who stepped up in a big way for Pittsburgh last season.
If the Steelers can't find a way to re-sign Samuel, here are a few 2026 free agent landing spots that could be ideal fits.
The Jets parted ways with Sauce Gardner last season in a blockbuster trade with the Indianapolis Colts and are expected to heavily address the cornerback position this offseason. Samuel could pair nicely with Azareye'h Thomas in the Jets secondary, potentially forming one of the league's top cornerback duos.
The Bengals, one of the worst defenses in the league last season, could use another quality starting cornerback option opposite DJ Turner, giving Samuel an opportunity to face his former Steelers twice a year.
It's safe to say the Giants will also attempt to sign a top cornerback this offseason after former first-round cornerback Deonte Banks got himself benched, and Cordale Flott is likely set to leave New York in free agency. Samuel could be an intriguing and cheaper option for the Giants in 2026.
