Why that missed Wemby Game 5 flagrant foul on Jalen Brunson was so bad

The entire NBA Finals could have been changed if the hosting San Antonio Spurs got the win on Saturday night in Game 5 after the refs astoundingly missed a Flagrant 1 foul on Victor Wembanyama.

On a tough 3-pointer from New York Knicks superstar guard Jalen Brunson, Wemby failed to get out of Brunson's landing zone and made foot-to-foot contact as Brunson went to the ground.

That should have been an automatic Flagrant 1 foul on Wembanyama and suspended him for Game 6 of the NBA Finals if another game was needed. Instead, the refs just flat-out missed the call and kept things going.

This isn't the first time in this NBA Finals series the refs missed an obvious foul from Wemby on Brunson, making this sting even more. If you're a Knicks fan, you must be irate at watching this happen again.

This is unreal. How the refs missed this call is beyond us. What's the point of officials if they miss stuff like this?

Why was that last Wemby no-call so controversial?​

It was an impossible decision for the refs in that game.
