The Pittsburgh Steelers have added to their secondary in NFL free agency.

According to ESPN's Peter Schrager, the Steelers are signing cornerback Jamel Dean to a three-year deal worth $36.75 million.

"Steelers have agreed to a deal with CB Jamel Dean. 3 yrs/ $ 36.75 Million," Schrager said.

Why Steelers are signing Jamel Dean in NFL free agency​


Dean will be a massive upgrade in the Steelers' cornerback room over Asante Samuel, who is currently slated to be a starting boundary corner for the team.

The 29-year-old has started 77 games since entering the league in 2019, and had a career-high three interceptions in 2025.

Dean will provide a nice boost to Pittsburgh's secondary and step in as a starter on the defense.
