Terrance Ferguson is the newest member of the Los Angeles Rams, and he already thinks he'll be a great addition to Sean McVay's offense.

The rookie tight end is confident he can pick up the offense quickly after he told reporters Friday night that Oregon watch Rams tape during practice. This came after someone pointed out that offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Will Stein implemented similar offensive schemes as McVay.

"We take a lot of stuff from the Rams' offense," Ferguson said. "We've watched some tape on them so there’s definitely some carryover. Coach Sean McVay is one of the greats and he always has a great offense… like you said, using motions to attack space and everything like that. I'm super excited to be a part of that, get the playbook and dive into it."

That connection is a clear reason why the Rams took him over other offensive skill position players still on the board. Ferguson was a model of consistency over the past three years where he averaged 39 receptions for 465 yards and five touchdowns. Being productive is one thing, but Ferguson's knowledge of the blocking concepts and other minutia of the offense gives him an edge in training camp ahead of his rookie season.

While he'll likely start out as the Rams' No. 2 tight end behind Tyler Higbee, Ferguson has the skillset and ability to leapfrog the veteran at some point in 2025. Since Higbee is in the final year of his deal, Ferguson should ascend to the starting role by at least the end of the season or heading into next season.
