Funny, that's the one thing Gannon did that I absolutely approved of. Finally showed a little fire. He should have been grabbing face masks. That's how bad that play was from Demercado.
agree... our coach used to knock the crap out of us for making a bad play...in HS..
granted, he kept all the impacts to the padded areas... but being met with violence when you made a mistake was expected....even with a helmet on, a hamhock slammed against the side of your head would pop yer head and get your attention.
However...todays players are not the same as the guys were back in 1982. they are entitled, spoiled, weak....
really surprised dudes mama didnt come out of the stands on the coach...she likely just had to patience to wait outside his office door in the locker room

So, you don't know. You think maybe it was because JG ruined his trade value by declaring JB would start even if KM was healthy?
Infinite .

Do you think other teams don't have eyes and based Murray's value on a nebulous decision by Cardinals coaching or front office staff, rather than on the years of film and evidence that's readily available?

No one wanted to give up draft assets for Murray given his contract, and Murray surely didn't want to help out the Cardinals in sending him to a team of their choice, when he could refuse any contract modifications, force the Cardinals to cut him, go to the team of his choice, and still collect his full 2026 salary from the Cardinals.

He never had any trade value.

The Infinite Jest is the need for a starting QB that will twist teams into bizarre contortions to get one. Case in point is the way Rogers is jerking the Steelers around as they await his decision. Steelers are a team with an amazing legacy of success and SB titles, yet they are bowing down to a washed former star QB to come and be their QB---certainly not of the future but to keep them at .500.

I'm not privvy to any chatter between the Cards and the rest of the NFL regarding KM and his trade value during last season. Are you and your buddies K9 and ASUChris on the extension line with MO/MB about the value other teams had for someone like KM???

NO.

Only one team would need to tender anything for KM out of the entire NFL that would have resulted in him having some trade value. It wasn't that long ago on this forum that posters were projecting 'at least a 1st round pick.' for KM---some had him down for more than that. I thought that was ridiculous and agree that he has/had zero trade value. I didn't think he should have been given the extension but wanted him to play out his rookie deal under a 'Prove it' situation. But I am not a team in need of a QB---ANY QB---that can start and give us a chance.

So, unless you can verify from each team that KM did not have any trade value for them, you are making a guess that he had none. My guess is that you would be right---but I don't know either.

MO/MB knows if there was any legit nibble on a trade for KM
They also know if team(s) backed away when JG came out and stated JB would be the starter over a healthy KM. That signals a clean release and not even the cost of a 7th round pick or some used sweat socks.

The Vikes placed some value on KM--look how quickly he signed with them. It remains to be seen if KM gets the Diva Treatment and dictates playbook, roster, and draft picks they way he did with the Cards. Vikes only have the vet minimum on KM---he best get in line or he stands to get cut after training camp (or as soon as McC shows any promise.) That Diva nonsense had best end or he'll end up boucning around the league in the same way Russell Wilson (and other back-ups do). There is an Infinite Jest array of teams who place value on QBs---any QB.

Edit: K9, Do you have any thoughts at all past posting the grinning idiot emoji as your only contribution?

i think JG was loyal to a fault

I think he was committed to Kyler as his starter, but after the Indy and GB close losses where the offense looked functional -- he was told that JB was the starter

There's an interesting twist---that JG was not the one to bench KM. JG did put forth public suport for KM---until he didn't. He might have been forced into both. The plot thickens. LOL.

Do you have any guess as to why JG and DP were removed from the employment roll but others like DC Rallis still have their job?
