The Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand PrixIndyCar Series race start time on July 19 at Nashville Superspeedway is set, but not set in stone.
The 4:35 p.m. Central start time has built-in flexibility for FOX, the channel televising the race, because of the FIFA World Cup Final that begins at 2 p.m. Central.
FOX's social media graphic promoting the race notes that race coverage will begin "after the FIFA World Cup Final."
It may be a tight turnaround even if Spain-Argentina does not go to extra time, given the World Cup Final's longer halftime break and the post-match trophy ceremony.
Here's what to know about the IndyCar race start time:

However, that can change.
With a longer halftime, a World Cup Final that concludes at regular time is likely to run about 2 hours and 10 minutes. According to a clip on FOX Sports' YouTube page, the 2022 World Cup trophy ceremony lasted 25 minutes.
At the other end, extra time plus penalty kicks could add another 45-60 minutes to the World Cup Final coverage run time.
If the match were to go into extra time and/or penalties, IndyCar race coverage may not start until after 5:30 p.m. or later.
To further complicate matters, the weather forecast for Nashville Superspeedway is also uncertain for July 19.
Rain chances increase into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, topping out at 69% at 5 p.m. Central. Thunder is also possible.
Rain chances drop significantly in the evening.
The Music City Grand Prix is scheduled for 300 laps, 399 miles.
