In a bunch of 2026 NBA mock drafts, Tennessee big man Henri Veesaar was projected to be a first-round pick. Who wouldn't want the Estonian seven-footer who poured in 17.0 ppg for North Carolina to go along with 8.7 rpg and 1.2 bpg? Seems like a good prospect to me, especially with that size and the fact that he hit 42.6 percent of his threes in 3.0 attempts per contest.
It turns out he's now one of the best players available in Round 2 on Wednesday. So what exactly happened? What didn't scouts love about the center that made him drop out of the first round?
Despite the fact that big men who can create space with their scoring are a good thing in the modern NBA, perhaps there are concerns about his defense and rebounding. For a player that size, he didn't block a ton of shots and didn't rebound that well for a seven-footer. So those concerns could explain why he's out of the first round.
Many of them have him going at the very top of the second round.
