LeBron James' decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers took longer than many expected, and the saga even included a Miami Heat introductory press conference that would never happen.

We now know the apparent story behind that.

Last week, NBA fans took notice to the Miami Heat's YouTube channel accidentally displaying a scheduled live stream for July 27 entitled "LeBron James Introductory Press Conference." The post was quickly taken down, but it understandably fueled speculation that the Heat organization was expecting LeBron to return to Miami.

That wasn't the case at all. It turned out that the real reason was an honest mistake that happened as a staffer was trying to plan work ahead of a vacation.

Which is why the saga of the poor Heat staffer -- who sources told ESPN had scheduled vacation for this week and was trying to get ahead of work that could come up if James indeed chose the Heat -- was so amusing to Paul and the small group of people James confided in during his process.

Basically, this staffer wanted to get content scheduled for the rest of the Heat's social team and forgot to set the display to private. And no, this person was not fired.

That had to be a stressful lead-up to a vacation.
