Any idea what the "first step" bonus gives? Issiah Bradley has an 8 in it and I want to know if those were points well spent.

Bort on First Step SA:

Bort said:
First step has only ever activated when starting from a near stop, so either when you're starting moving for the first time, or when you've gotten slowed down to the point where you're near stopped. (It can only activate when you've got < 1.5 acceleration "units" of velocity, no matter where you are on the field.)

It's always been far less useful for RB's than WR's for instance, because of that fact. The RB is usually up to speed when he hits the hole, so first step wouldn't even have a chance to do anything. Quick cut is more useful, I'd say, for moving quickly through the line.

It can help greatly if you have to make a big cut, I guess, because you have to slow down a lot.

Actually, now that I think about it, making them slow down might actually INCREASE the value of first step. If they have to slow way down to break through the line, they will be more likely to be in a position to use it after they do.

So wasted. Sweet.

Depends...if the HB is in yer area - You'll be able to take a step faster than him to close the distance...if he has maneuvering room...then he will be able to outrun you.

Sure, but it's a skill under the "Pass Rusher Abilities" tree and I was hoping that adding to First Step under it would give him a higher acceleration bonus so he'd have a chance to be a completing sack artist. I wanted to make him a grade-A backup and situational rusher.

The first step is not a waste - cuz it does add to the acceleration part.

We do need another pass rusher...especially on the LDE side with all the double teaming from the TE.

You need to completely redo your equipment and drop it into agility and speed
.

Whats yer stats w/out equipment? Beaver can tell you what you need.

Get it figured out and I'm sure Joelf will get the funds going.

Yeah, the equipment should all be used on agility/speed. Maybe 70/30 split.

Speed/agility should be at least 60 without equipment.

You shouldn't have to put anymore SP into strength/tackling. I am still unsure if strength helps a DE with rushing. Sutcliffe's strength is only high by accident. Maybe it helps create initial space to get around the OT.

Vision is the 3rd attribute and should be at least 48.

I believe the most important DE SA is tunnel vision with shed block a distant second.

So basically, 60+ for both speed/agility, 48+ for vision and train the rest.

With the level we are now at, maybe we should do an equipment inventory for each player. Proper EQ assignments could be crucial in our builds. I believe most positions should only concentrate on 2/3 attributes at most. I see a number of players that could benefit from an EQ redo.

Looking at Beaver's breakdown, I missed the truck in a number of places with my build.

Okay breaking out my calculator ...yer gonna need about $300k in equipment. You'll need to sell yer current equipment to help with equipment upgrades...keep the shield though.

Beaver what do you think of this draw?

Shirt: +4 agi (62 agi total)
Cleats: +4 spd (55 speed total)
Rag: +4 agi
Glove: +4 agi

Superspck - I added an additional 100k...so you have 300k in yer equipment fund. Spend that first - then sell equipment if necessary.

Yeah I think the 70/30 ratio may work. I kept one piece of my speed equipment for testing. The speed will turn the hurries into sacks. (also wondering if jumping can turn hurries into sacks) The hard part is finding comparable OTs to draw conclusions.

Are we supposed to be requesting equipment money when we need it? Sutcliffe could use 400K for some lvl 32 EQ :D

Maybe we need an early scrimmage between the czars and knights.

Done and done. Thanks for the help! Let's see if this makes him more productive.

I still have my old equipment too, for what it's worth.

Cleveland Jones - 4.45
Colton Kidd - 4.45
Brooklyn Hammer - 4.65

Funny thing - CJones total S + A = 145.9 and CKidd = 145.94. They are almost identical.
