The Las Vegas Raidersrecorded just eight interceptions throughout the 2025 season. That was tied for sixth-fewest in the league with the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Commanders. Among the teams who had fewer INTs was the New York Jets, who had a historic zero.

Only five Raiders players had interceptions in 2025. Cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly led the defense with three interceptions. After he suffered a serious season-ending injury, the Raiders have not re-signed him this offseason after his contract with the team expired.

That guarantees the Raiders will have a new interceptions leader in 2026. Safeties Isaiah Pola-Mao and Jeremy Chinn are back as the starting safeties. Pola-Mao had two interceptions a year ago, but Chinn didn't have any.

Cornerback Eric Stokes is back after re-signing with the Raiders before hitting free agency. The Raiders are hoping for a developmental step from sophomore Darien Porter, who is the favorite to start opposite Stokes. Rookie Jermod McCoy will also compete for reps. The Raiders traded for veteran nickel Taron Johnson, who could face competition from rookie Treydan Stukes for reps in the slot.

The Raiders don't have many players with a rich history of securing interceptions. Pola-Mao and Chinn have three career picks apiece, Stokes has one, and Johnson has six (in eight seasons).

If Stukes earns significant reps as a rookie, he's underrated candidate to lead the Raiders in interceptions. He had four for the Arizona Wildcats last campaign and left college with seven career picks. Don't be shocked if Stukes' ballhawking mentality translates to the NFL.
