Maxim Naumov showed and kissed a photo of his parents after his short program performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, which was such a heartfelt, gutting moment.
Why? It's because his parents, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova -- who were former Olympics pairs figure skaters -- had died. They were just two of the 67 people who died after American Airlines Flight 5342 and a helicopter collided in midair in January of 2025.
After all he's been through, it's incredible to see Naumov back on the ice and at the Olympics, and this moment was just so emotional:
