AUBURN, AL — Ole Miss baseball is calling on pitcher Walker Hooks to hold Auburn at bay.

Ole Miss (39-21) is facing Auburn (42-20) on June 5 in Game 1 of a super regional. Hooks entered in the eighth inning to replace Hudson Calhoun. Ole Miss is leading 6-3. There is a runner on first with one out.

Hooks is a 6-foot-4, sophomore left-hander from Brandon, Mississippi.

Hooks has been one of the top bullpen options in 2026 for coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels. He is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA and leads the team with 24 appearances.

The Rebels leaned on Hooks heavily in the Lincoln Regional. He pitched 5⅓ innings on May 29 against Arizona State in the 14-inning win. He threw 75 pitches in relief of Hunter Elliott and allowed two earned runs.

He can also close games. Hooks has seven saves in 2026. He uses a low-90s fastball and a dependable slider that sits in the mid-80s.

Control is a key piece of Hooks' game. He has 58 strikeouts and just 11 walks in 52⅔ innings.
