The results are in for the Montgomery Advertiser's preseason high school Quarterback of the Year for 2026 season as voted on by the readers, presented by the Vance Law Firm.
The poll ran from June 21-25, with readers given the option to vote once every hour.
According to the readers, Pike Road QB Gunner Gibbs is the best high school QB in the Montgomery-area in the preseason of 2026. Gibbs commanded the Patriots in his sophomore season in 2025 to a third-round playoff appearance. The rising junior displayed some gritty traits in Pike Road's loss to Saraland in the playoffs.
Gibbs won the poll with 54.28% of the total votes, beating out Carver-Montgomery's Jayden Tyus, who received 15.48% of the total votes.
