The Winter 2025-26 high school sports regular season has come to a close in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, a pair of local wrestlers took home MIAA Division 1 titles, including one who defended her crown, while a Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater gymnast won the South Sectional all-around crown. A Taunton indoor track thrower had a top five finish at the MIAA Meet of Champions while a Bridgewater-Raynham basketball player put up a career-high points total to help secure the Spartan Classic title up in Lynn.

The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Girls Athlete of the Week for Feb. 9-15 is Bristol-Plymouth basketball's Emma Ericson, receiving 76% of the vote. Dighton-Rehoboth basketball's Julia Mello came in second with 14% while Bridgewater-Raynham swim's Casey Mulcahy received 6% to finish third.

Basketball​

Camden Strandberg, Bridgewater-Raynham​


Strandberg had a double-double of 35 points (career-high) and 13 rebounds, as well as 3 blocks, against Dracut.

Hockey​

Vivienne Melo, Bishop Stang​


Melo made 18 saves to record the shutout against Dennis-Yarmouth/Cape Cod Academy/St. John Paul II.

Wrestling​

Camilly de Carvalho, Taunton​


de Carvalho defeated Springfield Central's Destiny Rosado in the 152 lb. third place bout at the MIAA Division 1 Championship.

Kennedie Davis, Bridgewater-Raynham​


Davis was crowned the 114-lb. champion at the MIAA Division 1 Championship.

Baylee Teixeira, Bristol Aggie/Dighton-Rehoboth​


Teixeira finished runner up in the 138-lb. weight class at the MIAA Division 3 Championship.

Rileigh Fagan, Bristol-Plymouth​


Fagan was crowned the 152-lb. champion at the MIAA Division 1 Championship.

Gymnastics​

Lindsay Woodbury, Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater​


Woodbury was crowned all-around champion (37.075) at MIAA South Sectionals.

Indoor track​

Sophia Olaniyan, Taunton​


Olaniyan finished fifth in the weight throw (41 feet 9.5 inches, personal best) and 11th in the shot put (34 feet 0.5 inches) at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
