The World Cup round of 16 continues with a huge clash between Brazil and Norway on Sunday, July 5.

Two of the tournament's biggest stars, Brazil's Vinicius and Norway's Erling Haaland, will be at the center of the action at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Also at the center of the action will be an American: referee Ismail Elfath.

Elfath will take charge of the match and will be assisted by fellow Americans Corey Parker and Kyle Atkins.


Elfath has already officiated two games in this World Cup, taking charge of group-stage matches between the Netherlands and Japan, and Uruguay and Spain.

The 44-year-old is well known to American fans, having officiated MLS matches since 2012. In 2016, he became a FIFA referee and worked at his first World Cup in 2022.
