The first spot in the 2026 World Cup final has been locked up.

Spain will play for the World Cup championship after defeating France on Tuesday, July 14 in the first semifinal. La Roja won after shutting out France, 2-0, inside AT&T Stadium, their sixth clean sheet of the tournament. It will be the first final for Spain since 2010, when it won it all for its first and only World Cup title.

Now, it returns with the chance for its second championship.

Spain will wait to see who it will play for the title. That will be determined on Wednesday, July 15 in the second semifinal between Argentina and England.

As for the loser, France, its tournament isn't over, as it has one more match to play − against the other semifinal loser.
