I thought this might be a fun activity considering most all of us are shuddered at home. How about naming and explaining why, your top 5 players in the 2020 draft. This list doesn’t have to be just Cardinal targets, but it can if you want.

Here are mine (you will notice an SEC conference trend with my selections).

#1-Derrick Brown-DT Auburn-Brown is my favorite player by quite a large margin. Forget the Combine performance, Brown is a man among boys. He does things on a football field that are just really cool. Think getting double teamed, driving huge SEC guards into the backfield and then using one hand to rip down a helpless running back. I see a bigger version of Fletcher Cox.

#2-Henry Ruggs-Wide Receiver-Alabama. Ruggs might not be as refined as Lamb or Jeudy but he just has that insane speed and burst that strikes fear in opponents. Like Brown, a game wrecker.

#3-Javon Kinlaw-DT South Carolina. Kinlaw is the guy you make sure is the first off the bus to let your opponent know they are in for a whooping! He is the guy who makes teammates and opponents feel small. Kinlaw is that raging bull who still needs refinement, but the potential is through the roof.

#4-Jedrick Wills-OT-Alabama. I see a Dan Dierdorf type of intimidator in Wills. I see a 10-15 year stalwart at RT who just gives your offensive line a nastiness and run down your throat mentality.

#5-Andrew Thomas-OT-Georgia. Just like Brown and Wills, Thomas isn’t the guy who tears it up in athletic testing. All Thomas has done is game after game been the best and most consistent tackle on arguably the best offensive line in college football. He, like Wills will play a long time and solidify an offensive line.

Young <-- No doubt here.
Okudah <-- Again, no doubts.
Simmons <-- The Julio Jones of defensive specialists.
Wills <-- The most NFL ready RT in the draft.
Lamb <-- The most ferocity when attacking the ball.

Outside looking in:
Wirfs <-- The dude's technique needs work. A lot of work.
Jeudy <-- I really like his game. No issues here.
Ruggs <-- Top level everything. Great WR.
Kinlaw <-- There is one or two of him around 10 to 15 each year.
Brown <-- You have to be Donald or Suh if you are going to go as high as he might. He is neither of those guys.
Thomas <-- The best LT in the draft. Highest floor, middle of the road ceiling. Deserves to go before Becton & Jones.
