There were six Cape and Islands teams in playoff action on Tuesday. Find out who advanced to the next round in the MIAA state tournament, and who played their last game of the 2026 season.

Girls Tennis​


Div. 3, Round of 16 - No. 12 Weston 3, No. 5 Monomoy 2: The Sharks (17-3) were upset at home in the second round of the playoffs. They beat No. 28 Sandwich in the Round of 32.

Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 10 Lenox Memorial 4, No. 7 Bourne 1: The Canalmen (12-9) fell in their second postseason game. Sofia Halunen and Ella Swierkowski defeated Reeva Patel and Bella Giardina 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 in first doubles.

Bourne beat No. 26 Leicester in the Round of 32.

Boys Tennis​


Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 3 Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion 5, No. 14 Bourne 0: The Canalmen (11-10) were swept in the second round. They beat No. 19 Mashpee in the Round of 32.

Boys Volleyball​


Div. 1, Round of 16 - No. 3 Natick 3, No. 14 Barnstable 0: The Red Hawks (16-5) were swept for just the third time this season. They defeated No. 19 Winchester in the Round of 32.

Baseball​


Div. 3, Round of 32: No. 10 Gloucester 2, No. 23 Nauset 0: The Warriors (7-12) came up just short of a big upset on the road. Emmet Blatz threw a gem on the mound as he struck out 15 and allowed no earned runs.

Nauset defeated No. 42 Greater Lawrence Tech in the preliminary round.

Boys Lacrosse​


Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 8 Bourne/Mashpee 9, No. No. 9 Hamilton-Wenham 7: The Canalmen advanced to the Round of 8 with their second playoff victory.
